Your first visit
Your first visit to a chiropractor typically begins with a consultation and assessment. The chiropractor will ask about your medical history, including any current symptoms, past injuries, surgeries, and lifestyle factors that may affect your health. You'll also be asked about your goals—whether you're seeking pain relief, injury recovery, or overall wellness.
Next, the chiropractor may perform a physical examination to evaluate your posture, range of motion, and spinal alignment. In some cases, you may be referred for X-rays or imaging to get a clearer picture of your spine or joints.
If appropriate, you will most likely receive your first adjustment during this visit.
The visit usually lasts around 30 minutes, and you'll have a chance to ask questions or express concerns. The chiropractor may also provide stretches, lifestyle advice, or follow-up recommendations to support your recovery.
